Welcome Message

On behalf of the organizing Committee it is my pleasure to invite you to 10th Asian Regional Conference of CICIAMS to be held in Singapore, from 3-5 September, 2010.

Singapore is a surprising and vibrant destination. It is a dynamic city rich in culture, fine cuisine, arts and architecture.

The advances made in technology, rising health care costs, a rapidly ageing population, and new threats and challenges are leading many countries to place ever greater emphasis on health-care. With this in mind, we have set the theme “Embracing Holistic Healthcare through Practice, Research and Education” for our conference. The objective of the conference is to provide an opportunity for the Asian catholic nursing community to present and exchange ideas and develop a new vision for the future of nursing. The conference will take a balanced view of spiritual aspects in the delivery of care. It will consider the ethical, research, and practical challenges that accompany efforts to integrate spirituality into health care.

Experts on the various healthcare issues and distinguished plenary speakers will be invited to share their reflections on how it can be done to provide a holistic care for our patients.

I encourage you to participate in this conference by sharing your knowledge and innovations during the symposium.

We are certain that you will find the meeting both spiritually and scientifically enriching and socially enjoyable. I look forward to seeing you in Singapore next August.

Yours Sincerely

Mrs Theresa Cheong
